How Raht Aashyana Lakhanpal collects, uses and protects the personal information of its guests and of visitors to rahtaashyana.com. Last updated 10 October 2026.
The resort and this website
rahtaashyana.com is the website of Raht Aashyana Lakhanpal, a resort at Escrivao Vaddo, Candolim, Bardez, Goa 403 515, India, operated by Raht Hotels & Resorts for Lakhanpal Enterprises Private Limited. In this policy “we” and “the resort” mean the two together.
We handle personal information in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000, and, for guests visiting from abroad, with the data-protection law that applies to them as far as it reaches us.
Questions about this policy, or requests about your information, go to stay@rahtaashyana.com or by post to the address above, marked for the attention of the General Manager.
Information you give us
When you enquire, by the form on this site, by email, by phone or on WhatsApp: your name, contact details, the dates and the kind of stay or occasion you are planning, and anything else you choose to tell us.
When you book: the names of the guests, dates, the villa, cottage or room, special requests, and payment details, which are handled by the booking engine and payment gateway and are not stored by the resort.
At check-in: government photo identification for every adult guest, and for foreign nationals the passport and visa, as Indian law requires. Foreign guests are registered with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office through the Form C system.
During a stay: preferences, dietary requirements, requests and feedback, so that we can look after you well and remember your preferences for a return visit.
Cookies and analytics
Like most websites, rahtaashyana.com uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are needed for the site and the booking engine to work; others help us understand how the site is used and how our advertising performs.
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to measure visits, pages viewed and enquiries made; Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel to measure and improve our advertising and, where you have consented on those platforms, to show you relevant advertising. These tools set their own cookies and receive your IP address, device and browser information and the pages you visit. Google’s and Meta’s own privacy policies apply to what they do with that information.
You can refuse or clear cookies in your browser settings, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on and of personalised advertising in your Google and Meta ad settings. The site works without non-essential cookies.
Our booking engine, swiftbook.io, and our enquiry form may set cookies of their own to keep your session and your selections while you book.
What the information is for
To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote, confirm and manage your booking and host your stay.
To meet legal obligations: guest registration, tax invoicing and record-keeping.
To write to you after a stay about your visit and, if you have agreed, about offers and news from the resort. Every such email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
To run, protect and improve the website and our services, and to measure the advertising that brings guests to us.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
Who sees your information
The booking engine and payment gateway that process reservations and payments; the email, messaging and reservation systems we run the resort on; and Google and Meta, for the analytics and advertising described above. Each of them handles information under its own contract and privacy policy.
Travel agents or companies that book on your behalf, to the extent needed for the booking.
Government authorities where the law requires it: guest registration, tax, or a lawful request from the police or courts.
Within Raht Hotels & Resorts, so that a preference noted at one Raht property can be honoured at another, where you have stayed with more than one.
Retention and security
Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Booking records are kept for as long as Indian tax and hospitality law requires, currently eight years, then deleted or anonymised.
Guest registration records are kept for the period the law prescribes. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it.
Information is held on access-controlled systems, and only people who need it to do their job see it. Payment details are never held by the resort. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
What you can ask of us
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, withdraw a consent you have given, and ask us to stop writing to you. Write to stay@rahtaashyana.com; we reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Some information we must keep by law even if you ask for it to be deleted; we will tell you if that is the case.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India or to the authority in your own country.
This site is not directed at children. Information about children who stay with us is given by the adult making the booking, and is used only to host the stay.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the version in force; changes that matter to you will be mentioned on this page or by email where we have your address.
