The resort

A resort that began as a family estate

The villas and cottages were built one at a time over the years: the big house first, then Venus by the water, three tiled casinhas in the grove, and the cottages. It became a resort without ever being laid out like one, which is why it still feels like a home.

Laterite paths run between them under coconut and banyan. There is a zen garden by the spa, a havan kund and a Shivling under the palms, a garden deck above the sand and a shack on the beach itself — two places to sit and watch the sea, both yours.

A Goan original, long before it became a trend

Writers from Vanity Fair, Condé Nast Traveller and Gourmet were describing Aashyana as a private, design-led escape on Candolim beach years before boutique Goa became a genre. Twenty years on this shore, since 2005; the pieces are kept here as they were written.

“Aashyana is a dreamboat; a modern design in lush gardens, right on the beach.”
Vanity Fair

“You swim in a diamond blue pool being dive-bombed by dragonflies… masses of space for everyone to get away from everyone else.”
